Keeping You Safe
Our mission at XC Supercamps is to offer an inclusive nordic ski experience for skiers of all experience levels and backgrounds. Our culture emphasizes a strong sense of belonging, a multi-faceted learning experience, and an individualize approach to best suit YOU, our skiers.
We plan to run as "normally" as possible this season, with a few operational adjustments. This page will be updated as changes and guidelines develop.
We are following the Nordiq Canada, Safe Sport, and Provincial Health Authority guidelines to keep you safe during your XC Supercamps experience. Please feel welcome to contact us with any questions, comments or concerns.
Meals and Shuttles
We typically operate with a 6:1 ratio of skiers to coaches. This season, we will be using a 4:1 ratio to keep groups small and physical distancing manageable. If you are coming as a family group or a household bubble, please send us an email and we can keep you as one group. Physical distancing of two metres (six feet) will apply to ski sessions, off-snow events, and all XC Supercamps events. We strongly encourage wearing face coverings such as buffs, as well as gloves or mitts, whenever possible. We require a mask when the two metre distance cannot be maintained.
Meals will be done take-away style to reduce congestion and maintain a safe distance. This will allow some "on the snow" lunches for appropriate groups, who may choose to ski to an on-trail location for a scenic lunch. This means your morning could be a longer ski with a lunch break on snow, followed by a rest and a shorter afternoon guided trail experience to reinforce the technique from the morning.
Shuttles to Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre will be staggered this year, with half the camp starting 30 minutes earlier to reduce congestion and maintain distancing.
Sovereign days will be offered as an OPTION. Groups can opt to not take the shuttle and transport themselves. Groups can also choose to start at SilverStar and ski to Sovereign Lake to maximize their nordic experience. This is a dynamic plan and we expect adjustments as the situation unfolds.
