Keeping You Safe
Last Update April 29 2021
Our mission at XC Supercamps is to offer an inclusive nordic ski experience for skiers of all experience levels and backgrounds. Our culture emphasizes a strong sense of belonging, a multi-faceted learning experience, and an individualize approach to best suit YOU, our skiers.
We are grateful to have a strong, supportive nordic community during this time. We are here first and foremost for YOU, our skiers - we want to keep you safe and keep you skiing!
As we continue to manage the risks associated with COVID-19, XC Supercamps is modifying operations. We ask that you respect the following guidelines to to keep our community safe. Your patience, understanding, and adaptability is so appreciated during these dynamic times.
We plan to run as "normally" as possible this season, with a few operational adjustments. This page will be updated as changes and guidelines develop. We are following the Nordiq Canada, Safe Sport, and Provincial Health Authority guidelines to keep you safe during your XC Supercamps experience.
Meals and Shuttles
We typically operate with a 6:1 ratio of skiers to coaches. This keeps groups small and physical distancing manageable. If you are coming as a family group or a household bubble, please send us an email and we can keep you as one group if you prefer. Physical distancing of two metres (six feet) will apply to ski sessions, off-snow events, and all XC Supercamps events. We strongly encourage wearing face coverings such as buffs, as well as gloves or mitts, whenever possible. We require a mask when the two metre distance cannot be maintained or in indoor settings (in accordance with provincial health regulations).
SilverStar’s Food and Beverage team works hard to create nutritious and delicious meals to fuel our skiers. This season, meals will likely be done take-out style to facilitate distancing. This will allow some "on the snow" lunches for appropriate groups, who may choose to ski to an on-trail location for a scenic lunch.
Shuttles to Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre will be staggered, with half the camp starting 30 minutes earlier to reduce congestion and maintain distancing.
In light of the risks associated with COVID-19, buffs or other appropriate face coverings will be required during your XC Supercamp (as per the provincial health authority). For many, wearing a buff is a normal part of ski attire. At this time, like in other provinces, a face covering is required when entering communal indoor spaces. On the trail, where 2 meter distancing is possible, we ask that our guest and staff remain 2 meters away from everyone outside their household bubble unless each is wearing a face covering. As an added precaution, we strongly recommend that you bring hand sanitizer to carry with you during your stay.
Kindly do not travel to XC Supercamps if you or a member of your party is sick, has symptoms of COVID-19, or has been exposed to COVID-19 over the past 14 days. You will be sent home if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.
